From the Principal’s Office
Oh my, what a busy time of year! Spring is in full stride and we are in the midst of this fast paced season. I am sure that many of you are juggling sports, school events, vacation planning and other activities. I hope that in the middle of all the hustle and bustle, you take a moment to “smell the roses” and enjoy the season.
Safe Footwear
Please keep in mind that the safest shoes for children to wear at school are tennis shoes. Sandals, open-toe and slick-soled shoes may not be worn to school. This policy is stated in the Parent Handbook under the Clothing & Personal Belongings section. With summer coming please do not allow children to wear flip-flops or open-toed sandals to school. We do apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but our main objective is to protect the children.
Teacher Appreciation Week
Next week is teacher appreciation week! A letter with celebration details was sent out in Links to Home today. We look forward to celebrating our teachers all week and encourage you to join in the fun so we can let the teachers know how much we appreciate everything they do each and every day!
Sunscreen
With the weather warming up, please be sure to bring in sunscreen and complete a Topical Product Permission Form. Please keep in mind, on the permission form you must write the name of the topical product, it is not permitted to only say sunscreen. In addition, for instructions you must write ‘apply to exposed skin before sun exposure’ or something along those lines, licensing will not allow ‘as needed’.
Topical Product Permission Forms can be found in the foyer, you can also reach out to the office or your child’s teachers for a form.
Lastly, please do not leave sunscreen or any medication in children’s cubbies or bags. All ointments, lotions, and medications must be kept with teachers or administrators and out of reach of children at all times.
Intermediate, Pre-K and Kindergarten Mother’s Day Celebration
On Friday May 1oth at 3:00 we will be hosting special classroom parties in honor of Mother’s Day. It’s our little way of saying thanks for being so great!
Graduation Celebrations
We are so excited to celebrate our student’s success with graduation ceremonies on Thursday, May 23rd. The Pre-K graduation ceremony will be at 12:00 and the Kindergarten and Kindergarten Enrichment graduation ceremony will be at 3:30. We will be sending home flyers with additional details later this week.
Reminders
* Don’t forget to check your child’s cubby for important information from their teachers and the office.
* Parking Lot Safety – Remember to drive slowly and cautiously through our parking lots. There are several small children and their families in the parking lot throughout the day, and we want to be sure that everyone is safe! In addition, please do not leave children in the car unattended. It is also important that you do not leave your car running while in our school.
